The existence of wrinkles can be produced by over-active facial muscles. Botox injections into those muscles decrease or even erase forehead "worry" lines, brow "frown" lines and eye "crow's feet" lines, which cause them to be temporarily relaxed, thereby reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Botox injections into the midpoint of the chin reduces dimpling of the chin and can also be used to raise the lateral corner of the eyebrow, giving a "chemical brow lift." Botox can also be used to flatten the lines at the corners of the mouth.
